About the Role
Bergstein Hospital, a leading private multi-specialist healthcare facility in Ikorodu, Lagos, and the flagship of Bergstein Health Systems, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Consultant Anaesthesiologist. In this vital role, you will provide expert specialist care, ensuring patient safety, effective pain management, and optimal clinical outcomes during surgical and critical care procedures. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, theatre nurses, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to uphold our standards of clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert specialist anaesthetic care, pre-operative assessments, and post-operative follow-up.
- Manage perioperative patient safety and monitor vital signs throughout surgical procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary trauma and emergency response teams when required.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely clinical documentation and electronic health records.
- Contribute actively to departmental quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance initiatives.
- Adhere strictly to professional medical ethics, confidentiality, and hospital clinical protocols.
- MBBS or equivalent basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid postgraduate specialist fellowship qualification in Anaesthesia (e.g., FWACS, FMCPath, or equivalent).
- Current practicing license and valid registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Demonstrated clinical experience working as a Consultant Anaesthesiologist in a reputable hospital environment.
- Exceptional clinical judgement, crisis management, and interpersonal communication skills.
