About the Role
Terre des hommes (Tdh), the leading Swiss child relief agency with over 50 years of experience protecting children's rights worldwide, is seeking a qualified consultant to design and facilitate a Strategic Planning and Organisational Visioning Training. This engagement aims to strengthen the institutional capacity, leadership, and strategic direction of Tdh's local partner organizations, enabling them to articulate a shared vision and develop practical, multi-year strategic plans aligned with their mission and operating context.
The consultant will work closely with partner leadership teams and key staff to build skills in organisational visioning, situational analysis, strategic priority setting, and results-oriented planning, ensuring outcomes that support sustainable programme implementation and organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a pre-training organizational capacity and leadership needs assessment
- Design a context-specific strategic planning and visioning curriculum
- Facilitate participatory training sessions on vision, mission, values, governance, and strategic leadership
- Lead situational analysis exercises including SWOT, PESTLE, and stakeholder/power mapping
- Guide participants through strategic priority setting and organisational theory of change
- Support development of strategic objectives, outcomes, indicators, and results frameworks
- Facilitate translation of strategy into operational and annual implementation plans
- Address risk analysis, assumptions, and adaptive strategy formulation
- Establish monitoring, review, and learning mechanisms for strategic plans
- Facilitate guided visioning exercises and strategic discussions
- Support participants in drafting or refining organisational strategic frameworks
- Provide post-training recommendations for organizational strengthening
- Deliver all required documentation, including training agenda, materials, evaluation analysis, and final report
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in organisational development, strategic planning, or leadership consulting
- Proven track record facilitating strategic planning processes for NGOs or civil society organizations
- Strong understanding of localisation, governance, and NGO sustainability principles
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and group process management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead participatory and inclusive planning processes
- Availability for a seven-day assignment from 6th to 12th September 2026 in Maiduguri
- Training venue and logistics provided by Tdh
