About the Role
Craneburg Construction Company, one of Nigeria's largest and most diversified private construction groups, is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Construction Lab Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining our high standards of quality by ensuring all construction materials meet stringent project specifications and industry regulations across our dynamic sites.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, label, and prepare soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete samples for comprehensive laboratory and field testing.
- Perform critical soil evaluations including moisture content, sieve analysis, Atterberg limits, compaction Proctor tests, and CBR.
- Execute concrete testing procedures such as slump tests, temperature monitoring, cube and cylinder preparation, and compressive-strength testing.
- Conduct asphalt assessments including sampling, aggregate gradation, bitumen content analysis, density checks, and Marshall mix-design tests.
- Perform field density tests utilizing sand-cone or nuclear density methods as required by project specifications.
- Operate, clean, calibrate, and meticulously maintain all laboratory and field-testing equipment.
- Record test results with high accuracy and prepare detailed, timely laboratory and field reports.
- OND, HND, or BSc in Civil Engineering, Geology, Building Technology, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated practical experience in soil, asphalt, concrete, aggregate, and field testing within the construction industry.
- Thorough knowledge of construction-material testing standards, codes, and standard operating procedures.
- Proficiency in operating specialized laboratory and field-testing equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and technical reporting.
