About the Role
Lajfort Schools, a reputable and growing educational institution in Ota, Ogun State, is seeking a competent and passionate Computer/ICT Teacher to join our esteemed faculty at Lajfort College in Iju, Ota. Since our establishment in 2010 and the subsequent opening of our secondary section in 2015, we have remained committed to delivering academic excellence in a supportive environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in equipping our secondary school students with essential digital literacy, technical skills, and a strong foundation in computer science to prepare them for both internal assessments and external examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and JAMB.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Computer Studies, ICT, and related technology subjects to secondary school students using approved curricula.
- Plan and deliver both theoretical and highly engaging practical lessons in the school computer laboratory.
- Introduce students to computer fundamentals, Microsoft Office suite, internet navigation, and modern digital literacy tools.
- Provide foundational instruction in basic programming and computational thinking where applicable.
- Assess, monitor, and record students academic progress while preparing them effectively for external examinations.
- Maintain discipline, safety, and proper management within the classroom and computer laboratory environment.
- Participate actively in school programs, staff meetings, and extracurricular activities to support holistic student development.
- Minimum of a B.Ed, B.Sc, B.Tech, or HND in Computer Science, Computer Education, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Possession of a PGDE or TRCN certification is a strong added advantage for candidates without an initial teaching degree.
- 1 to 3 years of cognate teaching experience at the secondary school level.
- Proficiency in computer applications, digital tools, and basic programming languages such as Python or HTML/CSS.
