We are currently seeking a dynamic and meticulous Compliance Accountant to join our growing finance team in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including personal and company income tax, withholding tax, and sales tax.
- Maintain 100% compliance with statutory obligations to achieve zero financial penalties or fines.
- Review weekly payment schedules to verify that accurate tax deductions have been applied.
- Process and obtain necessary regulatory certificates such as the Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC).
- Manage desk reviews and tax audits efficiently to ensure prompt and favorable closures.
- Reconcile compliance-related general ledgers monthly and prepare necessary adjusting journal entries.
- Monitor insurance portfolios to ensure zero risk exposure through timely renewals and adequate asset coverage.
- Coordinate annual external audits from a compliance perspective and manage relationships with key external stakeholders.
- HND or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional accounting certifications such as ACA or ACCA are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar accounting or compliance role.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems, preferably Odoo.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of balance sheet and income statement analysis.
