About the Role

Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Community-Based WASH Supervisor to support the timely and effective implementation of community-level water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions in Demsa LGA, Adamawa State. This short-term contract plays a vital role in ensuring planned activities are delivered with high quality, addressing priority needs, and promoting safe hygiene practices across vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the timely implementation of WASH activities in targeted communities in accordance with approved work plans.
  • Conduct rapid field assessments to identify priority WASH needs, gaps, and emerging concerns.
  • Mobilize communities and engage local leaders, WASH committees, and stakeholders to ensure effective project participation.
  • Facilitate hygiene promotion, sanitation awareness, and the distribution of WASH-related supplies.
  • Monitor water points and sanitation infrastructure, reporting functionality issues or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Establish and strengthen community-based WASH structures to promote long-term sustainability.
  • Collect accurate beneficiary data, conduct monitoring visits, and prepare comprehensive field reports for the WASH Officer.
  • Ensure community feedback mechanisms are respected and that safeguarding principles are strictly upheld during all field interactions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of OND or HND in Environmental Health, Public Health, Water Resources, Civil Engineering, Community Development, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in WASH, hygiene promotion, or humanitarian community mobilization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with grassroots communities and local leadership structures.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with the local context, culture, and languages spoken in Adamawa State is a distinct advantage.
  • Previous working experience with NGOs or humanitarian organizations is highly desirable.
