About the Role
Concern on Climate Change for the Community Initiative (FOURCi) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Community Asset Field Monitor to support our expanding humanitarian and environmental interventions in the North East of Nigeria (Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states). FOURCi is a dynamic non-profit organization comprised of academics, environmentalists, agricultural experts, health professionals, and community volunteers united to safeguard our climate future and empower vulnerable populations. Our core thematic areas include climate education and advocacy, livelihood and climate-smart agriculture, protection and gender-based violence (GBV) response, nutrition, environmental sustainability, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). In this vital field role, you will play a crucial part in tracking, monitoring, and evaluating community assets and project implementations to ensure transparency, accountability, and maximum impact for grassroots communities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular field monitoring and data collection on community assets and project activities across designated BAY state locations.
- Engage directly with community stakeholders, local leaders, and beneficiaries to assess project progress and address operational challenges.
- Prepare accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc field reports detailing asset conditions, utilization rates, and activity outcomes.
- Support project teams in implementing climate-smart agriculture, WASH, and livelihood initiatives at the grassroots level.
- Ensure adherence to organizational safeguarding, protection, and gender-based violence (GBV) guidelines during all field engagements.
- Assist in conducting baseline assessments, focus group discussions, and community sensitization campaigns.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Proven fieldwork experience within non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or community-based initiatives, preferably in North East Nigeria.
- Strong understanding of climate change, WASH, livelihoods, or humanitarian protection frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and community mobilization skills.
- Proficiency in local languages spoken in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states is a distinct advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, challenging field environments.
