About the Role
Proten is an international Human Capital Development firm with head offices in London and Lagos, offering comprehensive training, coaching, and consulting services across Africa and Europe. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Lead to drive our corporate communications strategy, brand positioning, reputation management, and digital presence. In this pivotal role, you will advise senior leadership on strategic messaging, manage media relations, and ensure consistent, high-quality communications across all platforms and affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the organization's comprehensive communications and brand strategy aligned with growth priorities.
- Advise senior leadership on reputation management, strategic positioning, crisis communications, and sensitive messaging.
- Oversee the creation of newsletters, press releases, thought leadership articles, impact stories, and external marketing materials.
- Translate technical programme results into clear, compelling narratives for funders, government bodies, and public audiences.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with media professionals, journalists, donors, and key industry stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor the communications team, maintaining high editorial and quality standards across all outputs.
- Manage digital and social media strategies, utilizing analytics to improve online engagement and brand visibility.
- Manage communication budgets, external vendors, PR agencies, and creative resources effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional communications experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Proven track record in brand management, media relations, strategic messaging, and executive advisory.
- Exceptional writing, editing, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with digital tools and platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, and analytics software.
- Postgraduate qualifications or professional PR certifications will be considered a strong advantage.
