About the Role
The Sahara Centre (TSC) is a Lagos-based non-profit organisation that explores how indigenous knowledge systems can drive innovation and development across Africa. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Lead to join our team on a full-time, office-based basis in Lagos.
Key Responsibilities- Implement the communications strategy and agenda across the website, newsletter, and social media channels.
- Determine which research and programme activities are distilled into compelling content.
- Maintain the content calendar, ensuring consistent sequencing and high editorial standards.
- Draft and produce engaging written and visual storytelling directly for diverse audiences.
- Coordinate with graphic designers and supervise expanding content staff to maintain brand consistency.
- Track engagement metrics and report on channel performance regularly.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in content strategy or communications.
- Demonstrated experience producing content for research, policy, or development sector organisations.
- Deep understanding of digital channels including LinkedIn, Instagram, and newsletters.
- Proficiency in Canva, with additional skills in video and audio editing being an advantage.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to manage multiple production timelines.
