About the Role
The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) is looking for an experienced Communication Manager to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will define and implement comprehensive 360-degree communication strategies, manage press relations, and produce compelling digital content to highlight our life-saving humanitarian medical work in emergency contexts.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute the 360-degree communication strategy for projects, including donor proposal contributions and budget management.
- Produce high-quality multimedia content (photos, videos, articles, and success stories) for digital channels and institutional donors while ensuring strict legal compliance and consent.
- Drive proactive press relations by monitoring national and international media, issuing press releases, and coordinating journalist field visits.
- Oversee internal communications, manage crisis communication protocols, and provide public-speaking and media training to mission staff.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop field communication officers while championing organizational safeguarding policies against abuse and violence.
- Postgraduate degree in communication, journalism, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in a similar communications role, preferably within the humanitarian or NGO sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in 360-degree campaign design, digital content production, graphic design workflows, and mobile videography.
- Exceptional journalistic writing skills with fluency in English and knowledge of a local Nigerian language as an asset.
- Strong strategic acumen, project management abilities, and cultural adaptability for fast-paced emergency environments.
