About the Role
Jaza Energy, a pioneering last-mile energy company building solar charging stations and renting batteries in off-grid communities, is seeking a dedicated Commissioning Technician for our expansion projects in Anambra and Imo states. In this vital role, you will own the technical operations for new site rollouts, ensuring all solar equipment is installed to the highest industry standards while working closely with our regional tech and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive pre-departure checklists of required tools and technical equipment for site deployment.
- Commission and install solar technical equipment following strict company guidelines and documentation standards.
- Configure new sites accurately within the Star App, Dashboard, and Dataverse prior to regional handover.
- File, track, and escalate technical issues efficiently using Gitlab while managing inventory during the commissioning phase.
- Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting to resolve Hub performance issues pre-golive and ensure 100 percent connectivity.
- Test new products and firmware as needed while documenting and reporting milestone achievements.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of technical experience within the renewable energy, solar, or telecommunications sector.
- Strong expertise in PV system design, electrical installation, and maintaining energy system uptime.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HSE compliance, safety standards, and robust problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, data collection, and analytical reporting skills with the ability to travel frequently to remote locations.
