About the Role

Jaza Energy, the last mile energy company building solar charging stations and renting batteries in off-grid communities, is seeking a dedicated Commissioning Technician to drive our technical expansion in Anambra and Imo. In this pivotal role, you will spearfront the deployment and commissioning of state-of-the-art solar energy systems, ensuring reliable power access for underserved rural populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare pre-departure checklists and ensure all necessary tools and technical equipment are ready for site deployment.
  • Commission and install solar technical equipment across allocated sites following strict company guidelines and safety standards.
  • Configure new sites accurately within the Star App, Dashboard, and Dataverse prior to handing over operations to the regional technician.
  • Log, track, and escalate technical issues efficiently using Gitlab, providing both remote and on-site troubleshooting.
  • Verify 100% network connectivity and optimal battery charge rates to guarantee a seamless Go-Live experience.
  • Maintain precise inventory records for all hub and shop equipment during the commissioning phase.
  • Collaborate closely with supply chain, construction, and regional technical teams to ensure integrated project execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on technical experience within the renewable energy, solar, or telecommunications sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in PV system design, solar installations, and electrical maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a steadfast commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
  • Exceptional communication, reporting, and data collection skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to remote off-grid locations within Anambra and Imo states.
