About the Role
Jaza Energy, a leading last-mile energy company building innovative solar charging stations and battery rentals for off-grid communities, is looking for a skilled Commissioning Technician to drive our expansion in Abia and Ebonyi. Key Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive pre-departure checklists for tools, equipment, and materials required for site commissioning.
- Install and commission solar technical equipment following strict company guidelines and documentation standards.
- Configure new sites accurately within the Star App, Dashboard, and Dataverse prior to regional handover.
- Track, log, and escalate technical issues efficiently using Gitlab.
- Perform remote troubleshooting and on-site visits to resolve pre-golive hub performance issues.
- Ensure 100% network connectivity and optimal battery charge rates for all Go-live Jaza packs.
- Maintain precise inventory records of hub and shop equipment throughout the commissioning phase.
- Test emerging products and firmware updates as required by the engineering team.
- Collaborate seamlessly with supply chain, construction, and regional tech teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on engineering experience within the renewable energy, power, or telecommunications sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in PV system design, solar installation, and general electrical systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strict commitment to HSE safety standards.
- Excellent communication, data collection, and reporting skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently to remote communities across Abia and Ebonyi.
