About the Role
Swift Networks is a leading indigenous Internet Service Provider in Nigeria, dedicated to delivering high-speed internet, telephony, and IP-VPN services to residential and enterprise subscribers throughout Lagos State. We are currently looking for a skilled Metro Fibre Technician to join our growing technical operations team.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and commission fibre optic systems and related infrastructure on customer premises and along metro routes.
- Perform precise fibre splicing, terminations, closures, and rigorous OTDR and power meter testing.
- Conduct proactive routine maintenance and troubleshooting to resolve connectivity issues and guarantee optimal network performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, splice logs, daily installation reports, and maintenance activities.
- Provide professional on-site support to clients, ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction and timely issue resolution.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company policies while working at heights or in confined spaces.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or degrees in telecommunications or fibre optics are strongly preferred.
- Proven hands-on experience in metro fibre optic installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in operating specialized tools including fusion splicers, OTDR, and power meters.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy equipment, work outdoors, and operate on ladders or elevated structures.
