About the Role
Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited is looking for a dedicated and experienced Commissioning and Start Up Shift Supervisor to join our dynamic team supporting major projects in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. In this critical role, you will lead field activities within your shift to execute integrated operations, commissioning, and startup plans for the Train 7 Project scope safely and efficiently. You will ensure that plant completion and integrity checks align with design specifications and global best practices while fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead operators in daily commissioning and startup activities to maintain safe working conditions and adhere strictly to project schedules.
- Act as a Permit to Work (PTW) signatory at the Shift Supervisor level, authorizing and controlling safe work execution for maintenance and contractor teams.
- Supervise process and utility line walk-downs, installation, and tie-ins in both greenfield and brownfield environments to guarantee plant operability and design integrity.
- Participate in the development and review of commissioning, startup, and shutdown procedures, capturing lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Provide close oversight on contractor and vendor personnel during plant completion, integrity checks, and commissioning phases.
- Serve as the First Intervention Team (FIT) leader during emergency response situations and support the Shift Superintendent in executing emergency response plans.
- Mentor, coach, and develop operational staff to drive high performance and maintain seamless shift handovers.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or University Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering/science discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of working experience in LNG plant operations, with at least 6 years in a Principal Operator or supervisory role.
- Proven hands-on commissioning and startup experience within an LNG facility or major oil and gas EPC environment.
- Valid Permit to Work Supervisory AGST certification and strong expertise in HSSE risk management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) processes.
