To support our expanding maritime logistics, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Commercial Manager for Gobel Marine. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the commercial operations of Gobel Ship and manage vessel chartering activities across the Group, ensuring optimal asset utilization and robust revenue growth in Nigeria's competitive energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial management of Gobel Ship operations to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Drive business development initiatives and revenue growth strategies for the marine business unit.
  • Manage end-to-end vessel chartering activities across the Group, including spot and time charter operations.
  • Negotiate, draft, and oversee complex commercial contracts, charter party agreements, and related documentation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, shipowners, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor global and regional freight market trends, providing strategic commercial insights and recommendations to executive management.
  • Ensure strict compliance with contractual, commercial, operational, and international maritime regulations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of demonstrable experience in commercial shipping, vessel chartering, or marine operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of chartering practices, freight markets, and maritime regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven track record in successful contract negotiation and commercial deal structuring.
  • Exceptional business development, stakeholder management, and networking capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, financial acumen, and market assessment abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard shipping or commercial management tools.
  • Professional certification in shipping or maritime studies, such as membership in the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS), is a distinct advantage.
