About the Role
Seedstars Academy invites applications for the position of Collection Specialist in Calabar, Cross River State. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting loan repayment and maintaining portfolio quality for entrepreneurs financed under the P2S program. This is a central collection and verification position combining high-volume phone follow-ups with strategic field visits, working closely with Loan Officers, coaches, and Entrepreneur Support Organizations to drive financial inclusion and economic growth in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-volume phone call follow-ups and digital messaging touchpoints with borrowers based on loan due dates.
- Collaborate with ESOs and coaches to drive timely repayments and monitor direct borrower accounts.
- Perform field visits, address verifications, and spot checks to confirm entrepreneurs are operating at registered locations.
- Validate crop deliveries, yields, and repayments using the Scribe mobile application.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned major aggregators, ensuring accurate off-taker payment routing to designated bank accounts.
- Provide underwriting support, collect agricultural value chain data, and assist entrepreneurs with loan applications.
- Proven experience in loan collection, credit recovery, microfinance, or agri-finance operations.
- Strong phone-based communication, negotiation, and high-volume daily calling capabilities.
- Proficiency in using mobile applications for field data collection and digital verification.
- Willingness to travel locally within the assigned region for field audits and spot checks with travel expenses reimbursed.
- Fluency in English and relevant local languages spoken in Calabar and surrounding regions.
- Demonstrated high integrity, professionalism, and compliance with local lending regulations.
