About the Role
The Place (operated by The Smackers Limited) is a premier and rapidly growing brand in the Nigerian food services and hospitality industry. We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated Cold Room Consultant to serve as our independent technical expert. In this role, you will ensure all cold rooms are properly designed, constructed, commissioned, and maintained to operate at optimal temperature ranges across our various locations in Lagos, Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert technical oversight over all cold room installation and construction projects.
- Ensure the company engages competent contractors who utilize quality materials and best engineering practices.
- Minimize construction and maintenance costs while maximizing equipment lifespan and reliability.
- Eliminate recurring cold room failures through proactive diagnostics and robust preventive maintenance frameworks.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure all refrigeration systems comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Bachelor Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in Refrigeration, HVAC, or Project Management will be a strong added advantage.
- Proven professional experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing contractors and successfully supervising cold room construction projects.
- Prior working experience within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or hospitality sector is highly desired.
