About the Role

Synapse Services, a leading privately-managed Center for Psychological Medicine in Nigeria, is recruiting a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our team. We provide comprehensive psychological and psychiatric care, addiction treatment, and therapeutic programs tailored to individual needs. Our evidence-based approach, developed collaboratively with international and local clinicians, addresses over 45 conditions across multiple treatment sites.

We seek a passionate professional committed to advancing mental health awareness and delivering exceptional psychological care. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, combining clinical expertise with business acumen to drive service excellence and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients of all ages
  • Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and person-centered methods
  • Diagnose psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers
  • Facilitate group therapeutic sessions and family-inclusive therapy programs
  • Conduct psychological testing, scoring, and interpretation for intelligence, achievements, interests, and personality assessments
  • Document progress notes and treatment plans using electronic medical record systems
  • Identify and refer clients to community resources and specialists as needed
  • Develop business opportunities and contribute to revenue growth through client acquisition and retention
  • Ensure robust aftercare planning and follow-up management post-discharge
  • Stay current with professional developments through literature review and continued education

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology (minimum)
  • Valid NACP license to practice
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and biopsychosocial assessment approaches
  • Fluency in Igbo, Hausa, or Yoruba (advantageous)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professional ethics
  • Excellent stress management and emotional stability
  • Proactive problem-solving capabilities
