About the Role
International Facilities Services Limited (IFS) is an international facilities management company operating global standards across Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Cleaning Equipment Operator to join our dynamic soft facilities team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering cost-effective, high-quality, and efficient end-to-end cleaning solutions for our esteemed corporate and institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities- Operate ride-on and walk-behind scrubber/dryers, high-speed rotary scrubbers, and sweepers for comprehensive daily floor care across large hard-floor areas.
- Utilize carpet chemical and steam extractors for scheduled deep cleaning of carpets, upholstery, and seating areas.
- Manage industrial wet and dry vacuums, back-pack upright vacuums, and dedicated restroom cleaning units and electrostatic sprayers for hygiene tasks.
- Operate height-access cleaning equipment safely, strictly following all height-safety procedures for elevated areas.
- Perform daily pre-use equipment checks, basic maintenance, and battery management, promptly reporting any faults or defects.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and correctly in line with product safety data and site protocols.
- Maintain equipment logs, support stock tracking, and ensure proper placement of safety signage during active cleaning operations.
- Minimum of secondary school education; a technical or vocational certificate in cleaning operations is an added advantage.
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience operating mechanized cleaning equipment in a commercial, institutional, or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of cleaning chemical safety, dilution, and correct application practices.
- Physically fit and comfortable working at height using appropriate access equipment and safety gear.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on operational schedules.
