About the Role
International Facilities Services Limited (IFS), a global leader in facilities management, is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Cleaning Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards across large commercial, industrial, and institutional environments using state-of-the-art mechanized equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate ride-on and walk-behind scrubber/dryers, sweepers, and high-speed rotary scrubbers for efficient daily floor care in large indoor and outdoor areas.
- Utilize carpet chemical extractors, steam extractors, and industrial wet and dry vacuums for deep cleaning assignments.
- Manage height-access cleaning equipment and restroom disinfection units while strictly adhering to safety guidelines.
- Conduct pre-use equipment inspections, routine battery management, and prompt reporting of mechanical faults.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely, following standard operating procedures and chemical safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate equipment logs, monitor consumables, and deploy safety signage appropriately in public-access zones.
- Minimum of a secondary school education; vocational certificates in equipment handling are highly advantageous.
- Proven experience of over 5 years operating mechanized cleaning machinery in commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to stand for extended periods and maneuver heavy equipment.
- Basic understanding of chemical safety, dilution practices, and height-safety procedures.
