About the Role
The Oasis Schools, a premier educational institution comprising crèche, primary, and secondary divisions in Ekpoma, Edo State, is currently seeking a dedicated and thorough Cleaner to join our dedicated support staff. As our Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring our classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and recreational areas remain spotless, safe, and welcoming for our pupils, students, and staff every single day.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough cleaning duties across all school facilities, including classrooms, corridors, restrooms, administrative offices, and the crèche area.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors regularly using appropriate and safe cleaning agents.
- Empty trash bins, dispose of waste properly, and ensure general cleanliness throughout the school premises.
- Sanitize high-contact surfaces such as door handles, handrails, desks, and play equipment to promote health and safety.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed around the school facilities to management immediately.
- Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and requested in a timely manner.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines established by the school management.
- Minimum of a First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) or West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE).
- Proven professional experience working as a cleaner, janitor, or domestic staff, preferably within a school or educational setting.
- Strong attention to detail with a proven commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Ability to work efficiently, independently, and with minimal supervision.
- Must be physically fit and capable of handling physical cleaning tasks.
- Good interpersonal skills and a trustworthy, respectful demeanor suitable for a school environment.
- Must reside in or be willing to commute to Ekpoma, Edo State.
