About the Role
Craneburg Construction Company is one of Nigeria's largest and most diversified private construction groups, delivering landmark infrastructure and building projects nationwide. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Civil Project Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising civil construction activities from initial design through to final project completion. You will ensure that all site operations are executed safely, efficiently, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, acting as a key link between field teams, project management, and external consultants.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil construction activities in strict accordance with approved project schedules and milestones.
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and associated documentation.
- Liaise effectively with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Monitor daily site activities to guarantee absolute compliance with approved designs and industry standards.
- Prepare, evaluate, and update method statements, work plans, progress reports, and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Manage project resources efficiently, keeping a close eye on progress, material consumption, manpower allocation, and equipment requirements.
- Conduct rigorous site inspections to ensure adherence to strict quality control and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical issues and on-site construction challenges.
- Assist with quantity verification, cost control, tracking variations, and accurate measurement of completed works.
- Support seamless project handover, snagging, and comprehensive close-out activities.
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of proven professional experience in civil construction and project engineering.
- Demonstrated background in building, infrastructure, or structural engineering projects.
- Extensive knowledge of modern construction methods, engineering standards, and Nigerian site practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and industry-standard project management software.
- Exceptional ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Strong project coordination, problem-solving, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Active professional certification or membership with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is a distinct advantage.
