About the Role
Mecer Consulting Limited, a premier human capital management and general management consulting firm established in 2014, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering engineering excellence, managing site operations, and driving project success for our notable clients across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily site works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, standards, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Integrate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements into planning and execution, actively participating in toolbox talks and Permit to Work (PTW) processes.
- Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly reports, progress updates, material requisitions, and technical logs.
- Coordinate closely with quantity surveyors and procurement teams for material take-offs, Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and supplier approvals.
- Track construction progress against schedules, report variances, and implement recovery actions under the guidance of the Team Lead.
- Support testing, commissioning activities, and the timely closure of punch-lists.
- Maintain rigorous ISO-compliant documentation, ensuring revision control, traceability, and audit readiness.
- Collaborate effectively with subcontractors, client representatives, and consultants during site inspections and technical reviews.
- Perform stringent QA/QC checks, including material verification, inspection requests, test witnessing, and Non-Conformance Report (NCR) follow-ups.
- First Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building, or a closely related discipline.
- Must be a COREN certified engineer with valid practicing credentials.
- Minimum of 9 to 11 years of proven experience in construction engineering roles, encompassing site supervision, QA/QC, and documentation.
- Mandatory ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 awareness training.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Project, alongside familiarity with other industry-standard engineering software.
