About the Role
Payzeep is a leading fintech platform empowering individuals, SMEs, and organizations to seamlessly make, receive, and process payments. We are looking for an experienced and strategic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to define our technology vision, lead our engineering organization, and scale our secure digital financial solutions for the Nigerian market and beyond.
Key Responsibilities- Define and execute the technology strategy, architecture roadmap, and build-vs-buy decisions across payments and core banking integrations.
- Lead and scale the engineering, mobile, DevOps, infrastructure, QA, and data teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous delivery.
- Ensure platform reliability, high availability, uptime, scalability, and disaster-recovery readiness for mission-critical payment rails.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure, networks, databases, and production environments while optimizing costs and performance.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams to enforce secure SDLC, PCI-DSS compliance, and robust vulnerability management.
- Manage relationships and integrations with core banking partners, switches, NIBSS, and NQR.
- Ensure full technical compliance with CBN IT standards, the CBN Risk-Based Cybersecurity Framework, and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
- 10 to 15 years of total relevant experience, with 10+ years building or scaling payments and fintech platforms.
- 7+ years in leadership and people management, including 3+ years managing engineering managers or multiple squads.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, API design, high-throughput transaction systems, and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian fintech regulations, CBN frameworks, PCI-DSS, and NDPA compliance.
