In this pivotal role, you will oversee laboratory technical services, ensuring optimal operational efficiency, safety compliance, and robust support for academic teaching and cutting-edge research.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the university laboratories to support academic curricula and research projects.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and quality assurance standards in all laboratory environments.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate junior laboratory technical staff and technologists.
- Procure laboratory supplies, manage inventory, and maintain accurate records of equipment and materials.
- Collaborate with academic faculty to design practical laboratory sessions for students.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor Degree, HND, or equivalent professional qualification in a laboratory discipline.
- Current and appropriate professional registration or license where applicable.
- Demonstrated post-qualification experience commensurate with the chief technologist cadre in a tertiary or research institution.
