About the Role
Independent Project Monitoring Company Limited (IPMC) is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Data Intelligence & Capital Markets to provide strategic operational and market leadership for our growing Data Intelligence Platform. IPMC delivers expert technical, economic, and management consulting services across oil and gas, infrastructure, and financial sectors. In this executive capacity, you will shape our data platform to meet the demanding requirements of asset managers, pension funds, commercial banks, investment firms, institutional investors, and regulatory bodies. You will also serve as a principal external representative, driving commercial growth and high-level partnerships across the Nigerian and broader African financial markets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the operational development, scaling, and commercialization of the advanced Data Intelligence Platform.
- Simulate and evaluate how capital market operators and regulators utilize the platform for critical investment, risk, and regulatory decisions.
- Review platform products, financial dashboards, advanced analytics, and reports from an institutional-user perspective.
- Identify crucial gaps in market data, analytics, benchmarking, and decision-support capabilities to maintain a competitive market edge.
- Collaborate closely with Data, Technology, Regulatory, and Business Development teams to enhance product relevance, usability, and market adoption.
- Drive the development of comprehensive financial, fixed-income, ESG, regulatory, and market intelligence products.
- Lead high-impact platform demonstrations, institutional pilots, strategic partnerships, and C-level client engagements.
- Represent IPMC Limited at prominent industry meetings, conferences, webinars, and professional forums.
- CFA Charterholder strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related professional discipline.
- Extensive experience in capital markets, investment management, asset management, banking, securities, or financial research.
- Deep understanding of investment analysis, financial markets, fixed income instruments, and institutional decision-making frameworks.
- Proven background working with financial-data, research, or investment-intelligence platforms.
- Exceptional commercial, analytical, and strategic thinking capabilities with a track record of executive leadership.
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with the confidence to engage senior executives and regulators.
