About the Role
Michael Stevens Consulting is seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our client delivering complex, high-impact engineering solutions. This executive leadership role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, overall firm profitability, and aggressive market expansion across Nigeria and regional markets.
Key Responsibilities- Hold primary accountability for overall P&L, ensuring project delivery meets top-line growth and target profit margins.
- Champion the firm's long-term corporate vision by translating strategic plans into actionable operational roadmaps.
- Leverage business development acumen to win major tenders, secure strategic partnerships, and engage high-net-worth clients.
- Inspire and mentor a high-performing leadership team across engineering disciplines, operations, and business functions.
- Establish robust risk management, financial controls, and governance protocols across all active consulting engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) is highly desirable.
- Mandatory COREN registration and relevant professional memberships such as NSE or ICE.
- Minimum of 20+ years of progressive professional experience, with 8-10 years in senior executive roles within engineering consultancy or construction.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen with a proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar P&Ls and driving revenue growth.
- Outstanding executive presence, negotiation, and board-level stakeholder management skills.
