About the Role
HReade Limited is recruiting a skilled and dedicated Chief Mechanic on behalf of our client in the oil and gas sector. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment on our land drilling rig, ensuring maximum operational availability and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of land drilling rig mechanical systems, including mud pumps, drawworks, and Top Drive Systems.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance activities using the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and OEM guidelines.
- Monitor equipment performance proactively to identify and resolve potential failures before they cause operational downtime.
- Manage spare parts inventories, ensuring critical mechanical spares and tools are adequately stocked and properly stored.
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate the daily activities of Mechanics and Motormen to guarantee high performance and safety standards.
- Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, including Permit to Work (PTW) and isolation procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree, HND, or recognized technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in drilling and/or workover operations, with at least 2 years serving as a Chief Mechanic on a land drilling rig.
- Strong expertise in maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and power plant equipment.
- Valid medical fitness certification for rig deployment alongside relevant HSE and safety certifications.
