About the Role

Alan & Grant is recruiting on behalf of an innovative real estate development company dedicated to resolving the housing deficit in Africa. We are seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic and financial leadership for all company operations, including project financing, investment modelling, property sales revenue, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and complex project financial modelling.
  • Oversee financial reporting, audits, regulatory compliance, and real estate tax frameworks.
  • Manage investment analysis, capital structuring, project funding, and cash flow optimisation.
  • Provide strategic financial insights on property development, land acquisition, and sales performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure strong corporate governance and accountability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and comprehensive financial due diligence for new property developments.
  • Develop robust risk management frameworks and oversee effective mitigation strategies.
  • Manage strategic relationships with commercial banks, private equity investors, and financial institutions.
  • Implement stringent cost-control systems and continuous financial performance tracking.
  • Drive digital transformation within the finance department, including automation and ERP optimisation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) and professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN, CFA, or CIBN are required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership, with a strong preference for real estate, investment, or asset management backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project financing, feasibility studies, and applicable real estate financial regulations.
  • Proven track record of managing large budgets, complex portfolios, and enterprise risk frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency with enterprise resource planning and financial management systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or Dynamics 365.
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, negotiation, and executive stakeholder engagement skills.
