About the Role

Kimberly Ryan is recruiting on behalf of our esteemed client for a visionary Chief Financial Officer & Head of Strategy to join their Executive Management Team in Nigeria. This pivotal role combines robust financial leadership with strategic oversight, guiding the institution's evolution into a digitally led microfinance bank while ensuring strict compliance with CBN and NDIC regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the bank’s digital transformation agenda, including digital lending, mobile banking, agent banking, and fintech partnerships.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and partnerships to support scalable and sustainable growth.
  • Manage the full finance function, encompassing budgeting, IFRS reporting, treasury management, capital adequacy, and cost control.
  • Spearhead capital-raising initiatives and cultivate strategic partnerships with investors, development finance institutions (DFIs), and fintechs.
  • Ensure comprehensive risk management, compliance, and internal controls across both traditional and digital banking channels.
  • Own product economics, pricing strategies, and partnership structuring aligned with customer value and regulatory guidelines.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Finance and Strategy team, fostering a culture of excellence and strong succession planning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree alongside a mandatory professional accounting certification such as ICAN or ACCA; an MBA or Master's degree is highly preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in senior finance or strategy leadership roles within the microfinance, banking, or fintech sectors.
  • Deep, practical knowledge of IFRS standards, CBN guidelines, and the Nigerian regulatory landscape.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, reporting, strategic planning, and managing relationships with regulatory bodies like the CBN and NDIC.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, MIS/BI tools, and a strong understanding of digital finance ecosystems.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management abilities, unwavering integrity, and a change-driven, customer-focused mindset.
