About the Role

Showers Christian High School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Chemistry Teacher to join our esteemed faculty. As a fully accredited institution recognized by the Rivers State and Federal Ministries of Education as well as the British Council, we prepare students for prestigious examinations including WAEC, NECO, and Cambridge International Examinations (Checkpoint, O and A Levels). Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive Chemistry lessons aligned with Nigerian and British curricula.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations such as WAEC, NECO, and Cambridge O and A Levels.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to ensure academic growth.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and inspiring laboratory and classroom environment for practical experiments.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide extracurricular activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Education with Chemistry, or a related field (Master's degree is an added advantage).
  • Proven experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary school level, with a strong track record of preparing students for WAEC, NECO, or Cambridge exams.
  • In-depth knowledge of both Nigerian and British secondary school curricula.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • A strong commitment to Christian values, ethics, and holistic student development.
  • Relevant teaching certification (TRCN or international equivalent) is mandatory.
