About the Role
The U.S. Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria is seeking a qualified and dedicated professional for the Chauffeur and Administrative Clerk position. This vital role ensures the safe, efficient, and secure transport of diplomatic personnel while providing key administrative support to embassy operations.
Key Responsibilities- Operate fully armored and lightly armored vehicles to safely transport senior embassy personnel and visiting dignitaries in Abuja and Lagos.
- Act as an alternate supervisor to guide the transport team, manage work schedules, and liaise with GSO Travel and Motor Pool.
- Navigate local roads expertly, utilizing alternative routes when necessary to bypass security risks or civil unrest.
- Perform preventive maintenance, ensure fleet cleanliness, and coordinate vehicle repairs.
- Serve as a cash custodian and assist with procurement planning and execution.
- Completion of secondary (high) school is required.
- At least three years of professional experience as a chauffeur and administrative clerk.
- Valid Nigerian driver's license held for a minimum of five years, along with defensive driving certification for armored vehicles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian traffic laws, local routes, and key diplomatic or government locations in Abuja.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
