About the Role
Greenland University, Jalingo, the first private university in Taraba State, Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Officer to join our vibrant campus community. Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily food production, meal preparation, and kitchen operations to ensure high culinary standards.
- Design nutritious, balanced, and cost-effective menus for students, staff, and university events.
- Enforce strict health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards across all catering facilities.
- Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and coordinate procurement of fresh food items and kitchen supplies.
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, junior cooks, and service personnel.
- Monitor food preparation costs and minimize wastage without compromising on quality.
- Collaborate with event organizers to provide exceptional catering services for university functions and conferences.
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Home Economics, Food Science, or Hotel and Catering Management.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant, hands-on experience in institutional catering or a similar hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen management, and large-scale meal preparation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced academic environment.
