About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and creative Catering and Culinary Graduate to join our dynamic food service team at The Place Restaurant, part of The Smackers Limited family. Since 2006, we have been a leading force in Nigeria's food services and hospitality industry, committed to satisfying the evolving tastes and expectations of our discerning customers. In this role, you will assist in menu planning, food preparation, and event catering while gaining invaluable hands-on experience in professional culinary operations and creative food management.
Key Responsibilities- Research and develop innovative menu items, flavors, and products that align with market trends
- Enhance and monitor existing products while gathering customer insights through surveys and industry research
- Stay current with industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards in kitchen and service areas
- Participate in inventory management and procurement of kitchen supplies
- Uphold rigorous safety and quality standards in all food handling processes
- Collaborate with team members to execute catering events and service excellence
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Catering, Culinary Arts, Food Science and Technology, or Hospitality Management
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction
- Basic knowledge of food costing and budgeting
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced hospitality environment
