About the Role
Artee Group is one of Nigeria's leading retail conglomerates, renowned for operating SPAR hypermarkets and supermarkets across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Category Controller to lead our Beauty, Grooming & Fragrance portfolio. In this strategic role, you will shape the commercial success of our high-value categories, driving profitability, market share, and an elevated shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive annual category plans covering sales, margins, stock turns, and inventory targets by sub-category and store type.
- Manage end-to-end assortment planning, category management (CATMAN), pricing strategies, and promotional calendars to attract high-net-worth and aspirational shoppers.
- Collaborate with demand planning and inventory control to optimize stock levels, minimize shrinkage, and resolve supply chain bottlenecks efficiently.
- Negotiate competitive cost prices, promotional funding, rebates, and exclusive distribution terms with top-tier local and international suppliers.
- Conduct regular store visits to ensure flawless execution of planograms, visual merchandising standards, product authenticity, and regulatory compliance.
- Minimum of a First Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Cosmetic Science, or a related discipline; an MBA or professional certification is a strong advantage.
- At least 8 years of proven category management or buying experience within modern retail or FMCG, with a minimum of 3 years specifically focused on Beauty, Personal Care, Grooming, or Fragrance.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiations, financial analysis, pricing, and demand planning using modern ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365.
