About the Role
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Cardiac ICU Nurses to deliver specialized critical care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery and complex cardiovascular procedures. You will provide continuous monitoring, advanced nursing interventions, and coordinated multidisciplinary care in a dynamic healthcare environment committed to excellence and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients requiring intensive monitoring and support
- Continuously assess cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and haemodynamic status using advanced monitoring technologies
- Manage patients on mechanical ventilation, invasive monitoring systems, and advanced life-support interventions
- Safely administer medications, vasoactive agents, anticoagulants, and prescribed therapies with precision
- Monitor and support postoperative cardiac surgery patients requiring ventilatory and haemodynamic stabilization
- Recognize clinical deterioration promptly and respond to cardiac emergencies with confidence
- Assist with emergency resuscitation and advanced life-support procedures
- Manage postoperative drains, lines, catheters, and wounds meticulously
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Provide compassionate patient and family education and emotional support
- Collaborate effectively with cardiac surgeons, anaesthetists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Uphold strict infection prevention and control standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation readiness activities
- BNSc, RN, or equivalent recognized nursing qualification
- Valid nursing registration and current practising licence
- Minimum 3 years intensive care/critical care nursing experience
- Cardiac ICU experience highly desirable; postoperative cardiac surgery experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated competence in advanced patient monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and haemodynamic monitoring
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork abilities
- Proven ability to thrive in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Strong commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice
