In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cutting, and packaging top-quality meat products while adhering to strict hygiene and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat products to ensure compliance with freshness, quality, and temperature standards.
  • Cut, trim, debone, slice, and portion meat accurately according to customer preferences and company merchandising standards.
  • Weigh, package, label, and price products while maintaining accurate stock control using FIFO/FEFO principles.
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene and sanitation standards, wearing required PPE and keeping all work surfaces and equipment sanitized.
  • Operate butchery equipment safely and report any faulty machinery to the supervisor immediately.
  • Provide prompt, professional customer service by assisting with meat selection, custom cuts, and product inquiries.
  • Minimize wastage and maximize usable yield through careful processing and strict inventory monitoring.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a SSCE, OND, or relevant culinary/butchery training certification.
  • Proven professional experience as a Butcher within the retail, food, or hospitality industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and yield management.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and health standards.
  • Ability to safely operate standard butchery tools and heavy processing equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods in cold environments.
