About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a strategic and analytical Business Initiatives Lead to join our operational headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the governance, integrity, and lifecycle of our internal strategic improvement portfolio, ensuring that high-impact projects deliver their committed value.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate improvement and initiative portfolio registers to reflect real-time project statuses.
- Run rigorous intake and governance gates, ensuring every initiative has defined sponsors, milestones, and robust benefit cases.
- Monitor portfolio health, identify at-risk items early, and produce comprehensive reports for the Head of Business Excellence and Executive Committee.
- Partner with the CFO and function heads to rigorously track and validate financial benefit realization.
- Provide expert project management support, cross-functional facilitation, and resource conflict resolution to Initiative Leads.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in programme or portfolio management, operational excellence, or business improvement within a heavy industrial, refining, or petrochemical environment.
- Proven expertise in managing multi-functional improvement portfolios, governance frameworks, and benefits tracking.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to validate benefit cases and collaborate effectively with senior finance stakeholders.
- Exceptional facilitation, problem-solving, and influencing skills to drive results across matrixed teams without direct authority.
