About the Role
Jean Edwards Consulting is looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong foundation in accounting, finance, or financial services to join our growing team in Nigeria. In this role, you will combine hands-on business analysis and project delivery with the opportunity to lead and mentor a small team of talented analysts. You will work at the intersection of business, finance, data, and technology to translate complex financial processes into practical system requirements, collaborating closely with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and support a small team of Business Analysts, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to capture, analyse, refine, and prioritise business and financial requirements.
- Analyse existing business processes, financial workflows, and data systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate complex requirements into clear functional documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Oversee project delivery across software implementations, system enhancements, data migrations, and financial transformations.
- Manage prioritised product backlogs and coordinate closely with development and QA teams to ensure timely release cycles.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, scenario development, defect tracking, and system validation.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven professional experience as a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Management Accountant within financial services or consulting.
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles, transaction processing, and data integrity.
- Extensive experience working in Agile environments with strong backlog management and user story definition skills.
- Professional finance qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CFA are considered a strong advantage.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modelling, ERP systems, or financial reporting platforms.
