About the Role
AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited has a vision to be the market leader in the Day Old Chicks market through exceptional quality products and services that guarantee profitable poultry farming. We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Breeder Veterinary Doctor to oversee the health, welfare, and productivity of our breeder flocks. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in implementing preventive healthcare programs, disease surveillance, biosecurity measures, and vaccination schedules to ensure optimal breeder performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive breeder flock health programs, monitoring mortality, morbidity, body weight, uniformity, and production performance.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage poultry diseases, promptly investigating disease outbreaks and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and oversee breeder vaccination schedules, monitoring vaccine administration and effectiveness.
- Ensure strict compliance with farm biosecurity protocols by conducting regular audits, risk assessments, and training personnel.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as egg production, fertility, hatchability, and feed consumption in collaboration with production teams.
- Maintain accurate veterinary records, treatment logs, and prepare periodic performance reports for management.
- Supervise veterinary assistants, providing technical guidance and training on best practices in poultry welfare.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in poultry veterinary practice, with significant exposure to breeder operations.
- Strong expertise in poultry disease diagnosis, vaccination programs, and advanced biosecurity systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis, performance monitoring, and Microsoft Office applications.
