About the Role
AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, a recognized leader in the Nigerian poultry industry, is seeking a diligent and skilled Hatchery Officer to join our dynamic production team. Our vision is to remain the foremost provider of top-quality day-old chicks, ensuring sustainable and profitable poultry farming across the region. In this pivotal role, you will be at the heart of our operations, managing the delicate balance of incubation, biosecurity, and chick processing to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and regulate incubation and hatching processes to maximize optimal hatchability rates.
- Ensure proper handling, grading, and storage of all incoming fertile eggs.
- Strictly maintain hatchery hygiene, sanitation, and comprehensive biosecurity standards.
- Continuously monitor critical environmental parameters including temperature, humidity, and ventilation systems.
- Supervise and assist in comprehensive chick processing, vaccination, and dispatch activities.
- Accurately record daily hatchery operational data and prepare insightful reports for management.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment malfunctions or operational issues promptly.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Possession of an HND or B.Sc Degree in Animal Science, General Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of cognate working experience in a commercial hatchery or intensive poultry operations.
- Demonstrated understanding of modern hatchery equipment and artificial incubation processes.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent record-keeping, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
- Resilience and ability to work effectively under pressure and adjust to shift schedules when required.
