About the Role
Buymore Supermarket, a leading retail chain with established branches across GRA Ikeja, Abule Egba, Isheri, and Ibafo, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Branch Account Officer to drive financial integrity at our branch level. In this vital role, you will oversee daily financial operations, ensure stringent cash and POS controls, and maintain accurate inventory and expense records to support our continued retail growth in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit accurate daily sales, cash, POS, and expense reports to the Head Office.
- Reconcile daily cash sales, bank deposits, and electronic transfers while supervising cashiers.
- Collaborate with store management on regular stock counts, variance analysis, and monitoring cost of goods sold.
- Process branch expenses, manage petty cash usage, and liaise with vendors regarding invoice reconciliations.
- Enforce company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), internal controls, and flag any financial irregularities promptly.
- Possession of an HND or B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of proven experience in financial accounting, auditing, or cash management, preferably within the retail or FMCG sector.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and POS transaction processing.
- Exceptional attention to detail, high integrity, and strong analytical skills.
