About the Role
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a prominent industry leader with a rich history of excellence and innovation in manufacturing, is looking for a dedicated and skilled Boiler Operator for Premier Feeds Mill. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining industrial boiler systems to guarantee a continuous and reliable supply of quality steam and water for our daily production activities. You will play a crucial part in maintaining optimal equipment performance, adhering strictly to safety regulations, and minimizing operational downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operating and monitoring boiler systems to ensure efficient and uninterrupted steam generation for production.
- Performing routine and preventive maintenance activities, including greasing, oiling, and cleaning boiler equipment.
- Conducting essential water treatment activities such as water conductivity analysis and boiler chemical preparation.
- Removing ash and soot from boiler systems regularly to maintain optimal thermal performance.
- Monitoring steam pressure, steam quality, and water availability continuously to support production requirements.
- Troubleshooting boiler faults and associated equipment promptly to minimize operational downtime.
- Carrying out thorough inspections of boiler accessories and reporting abnormalities to the technical team.
- Maintaining accurate daily records of boiler operations, maintenance logs, and water treatment results.
- Ensuring absolute compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental standards during all operations.
- Collaborating effectively with the Production and Technical teams to achieve shared operational targets.
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in a Science-related discipline or relevant technical field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of cognate experience operating boilers or working in a similar industrial utility role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate heavy industrial equipment safely.
- Solid knowledge of steam generation systems, water treatment processes, and boiler maintenance best practices.
