About the Role
Elevation Professionals, a leading management consultancy and publishing firm, is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Biology Teacher to join a reputable academic institution in Ipaja, Lagos. As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons that align with the curriculum while creating a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking among students.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured Biology lessons in line with the approved curriculum
- Develop teaching materials, lesson plans, and assessments that enhance student understanding
- Conduct practical sessions and laboratory experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts
- Assess and evaluate students' progress through tests, assignments, and examinations
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
- Provide guidance and support to students to help them achieve academic excellence
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to improve the overall academic curriculum
- Ensure a safe, organized, and conducive classroom environment
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and school development programs
- A Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Biology, Education, or a related field
- Relevant teaching certification or professional qualification is an added advantage
- Proven experience teaching Biology at the secondary school level
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian education curriculum and examination standards (WAEC, NECO, etc.)
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students
- Ability to use technology and modern teaching aids to enhance learning
