In this role, you will ignite students' curiosity about living organisms, their structures, functions, growth, and evolution through a blend of stimulating theoretical instruction and hands-on laboratory experiences. Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive Biology lessons covering all approved curriculum topics with creativity and precision.
- Conduct engaging practical laboratory sessions, demonstrating proper techniques and strictly supervising student-led experiments.
- Prepare students adequately and strategically for major examinations including WAEC, NECO, and other relevant assessments.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, manage biological specimens, and enforce rigorous safety protocols at all times.
- Assess student progress regularly through well-designed tests, homework assignments, and investigative projects.
- Provide targeted extra academic support and mentorship to students who require additional guidance to achieve their potential.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive, verifiable experience working as a Biology Teacher in a reputable secondary educational institution.
- Demonstrated strong laboratory management and practical science experiment skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills paired with strong analytical capabilities.
- Proven ability to simplify complex biological concepts and foster critical thinking in diverse groups of students.
