About the Role
The St. Bridgets Schools, an established educational institution in Aba, Abia State with a proud history dating back to 1987, is seeking a passionate and qualified Basic Science Teacher (JSS). We are dedicated to academic excellence, character development, and preparing future-ready learners across our primary and secondary levels.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging Basic Science lessons in line with the approved Junior Secondary curriculum.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, notes, assignments, practical tests, and instructional materials.
- Assess and monitor students’ academic progress while maintaining accurate performance and attendance records.
- Maintain effective classroom management to ensure a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Encourage critical thinking, scientific curiosity, and active student participation during classes.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school management regarding student development.
- Participate actively in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development programs.
- Minimum of an NCE, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Integrated Science, or a related field.
- Previous teaching experience at the Junior Secondary School level is a distinct advantage.
- Strong knowledge of the Basic Science curriculum and modern pedagogical approaches.
- Excellent classroom management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and educational technology tools.
- TRCN registration and experience preparing students for BECE are added advantages.
