About the Role
Holy Child College, a prestigious Catholic co-educational full boarding school located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, is seeking a competent and enthusiastic Basic Science and Technology Teacher. In this role, you will make scientific and technological concepts interesting, practical, and accessible to our students while fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in line with our tradition of academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging Basic Science and Technology lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum and learner-centred methods.
- Conduct practical lessons, demonstrations, experiments, and project-based activities safely and responsibly.
- Connect scientific concepts to everyday life and real-world applications to build student understanding.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, classwork, assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Assess student learning, maintain accurate academic records, and provide targeted support to students who need assistance.
- Integrate ICT and digital resources into teaching and learning to enhance the classroom experience.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, science exhibitions, co-curricular programmes, and school activities.
- Support the school's core commitment to discipline, holistic character formation, and academic excellence.
- Bachelor's Degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Integrated Science, Technology Education, or a related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification and TRCN certification or eligibility for registration are distinct advantages.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably within a structured secondary school environment.
- Sound knowledge of the Nigerian Basic Science and Technology curriculum.
