About the Role

Zamfara State Government seeks dedicated and compassionate Basic Midwives to deliver quality maternal and child health services in healthcare facilities across the state. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on maternal health in northwestern Nigeria while serving diverse communities including the Hausa, Fulani, and other ethnic groups across fourteen local government areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to pregnant women and nursing mothers
  • Conduct normal deliveries and manage labour complications
  • Provide family planning counseling and services
  • Promote maternal and child health education in assigned communities
  • Maintain accurate medical records and health statistics
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams in rural and remote areas
  • Support immunization and child health programmes

Qualifications
  • Certificate in Midwifery from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
  • Current and valid NMCN annual practicing license
  • Nigerian citizen by birth with valid National ID/NIN
  • Age between 18-40 years
  • Medically and physically fit for duty
  • Clear criminal record with no history of dismissal from public service
  • Willingness to work in rural areas and accept deployment across Zamfara State
