About the Role
Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) Nigeria Limited is looking for a dedicated Bank and Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team in Lagos, reporting directly to the Head of Financial Institutions (FI) Credit. As part of a leading African corporate and investment bank, you will play a crucial role in supporting independent credit assessments, monitoring, and comprehensive risk management for sovereigns, banks, insurance companies, and development finance institutions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessments on assigned banks, sovereigns, NBFIs, and financial sector counterparties.
- Review annual reports, audited financial statements, regulatory filings, and evaluate capital adequacy, liquidity, and profitability metrics.
- Prepare detailed credit applications, annual reviews, and credit memoranda for internal approval committees.
- Monitor approved counterparties continuously to identify emerging credit risks, adverse trends, rating migrations, and limit breaches.
- Liaise effectively with relationship managers, treasury teams, risk management, and external stakeholders to ensure robust portfolio governance.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, or a related business field with a minimum of Second-Class Upper division.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in credit analysis, banking, audit, risk management, or financial analysis within a reputable financial institution.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and financial statement analysis skills with a solid understanding of banking business models and credit risk principles.
- Excellent report-writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills with an uncompromising standard of integrity.
